Planting and care

Plant Weigela 'Rumba' in full sun, in well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Allow at least 1.2 m of spacing to leave room for it to develop. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and lightly enrich the soil with mature compost. Water well at planting.

During the first season, keep the soil slightly moist without excess. Once established, Weigela 'Rumba' tolerates dry spells well. Prune lightly after flowering to keep a compact silhouette. No specialized treatment is needed; adding compost in late winter is enough.
