Planting and care

Plant Weigela 'Minuet' in fall or spring in well-drained soil, in a sunny spot to bring out the foliage colour. Adding compost or growing mix at planting helps the roots establish. Allow at least 0.75 m between plants.

Water regularly during the first year, especially in dry spells, to make sure it takes well. Once established, this tolerant shrub needs little watering. A light pruning after flowering keeps the compact shape and encourages branching. No disease or pest treatment is needed under normal conditions.
