Planting and care

Plant in rich, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Provide a sturdy support or trellis, as the vine grows vigorously. Full sun for the best growth and good fruiting. Fall or early spring are the best times to plant.

Water regularly the first year of planting to make sure the roots take well. Once established, riverbank grape tolerates dry spells well thanks to its deep root system. Prune in late winter or early spring to keep the shape and remove dead or badly placed canes. A yearly addition of compost promotes vigour.
