Planting and care

Plant in fall or spring in well-prepared soil rich in organic matter. Choose a sunny or part-shade site. Planting in moist but well-drained soil helps it establish. Space plants at least 1 m apart.

Water regularly during the first year to make sure the roots take well. Once established, this shrub tolerates passing droughts well. Mulch at the base helps hold in soil moisture. A light pruning after flowering keeps a compact, dense shape.
