Planting and care

Plant in deep, rich, well-drained soil, in a sunny spot. Spacing between plants should be about 60 cm to let the air circulate. Planting out in fall or spring ensures it takes very well.

Water regularly the first season to keep the soil moist but without excess. Once established, this perennial handles changes in moisture well. A light mulch in early spring helps hold in moisture. A stake may be needed in very windy sites.
