Planting and care

Plant speedwell in full sun in rich, light, well-drained soil. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart for good air circulation. Amend the soil with well-rotted compost at planting.

Water regularly after planting until it is fully established (about 6 weeks). Once established, speedwell will tolerate drought well. Remove spent flowers to extend the bloom. In the fall, cut the foliage back to the ground after the first frosts. No special treatment or fertilizing is needed.
