Planting and care

Plant the silver linden in fall or spring in deep, fertile, well-drained soil. Choose a sunny spot, sheltered from strong winds if possible. Add organic matter at planting and water generously.

For the first two summers, water regularly to keep the soil moist (without waterlogging). Once established, this drought-tolerant tree needs little watering. No pruning is required; let its beautiful crown form naturally. Be sure to clean out dead or broken branches.
