Planting and care

Plant the 'Redmond' basswood in fall or spring in rich, well-drained soil. Choose a spot in full sun to encourage balanced growth and a compact habit. Space plants at least 6 to 8 metres apart. The tree adapts to most soil types and tolerates urban conditions well.

Water regularly the first year after planting to establish a deep root system. Once settled, the linden will tolerate dry spells well. Prune lightly in late winter to structure the crown and remove dead branches. No regular disease or pest treatment is needed.
