Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil, ideally in full sun to encourage generous flowering. Billard's spirea copes well with poor, dry soils once established. Allow 1 to 1.5 m of spacing between plants in a hedge.

It takes very quickly and the shrub needs little care. Water regularly for the first two years of establishment, especially in dry spells. A light pruning after flowering keeps the habit dense and stimulates branching for the following year.
