Planting and care

Plant in rich, well-drained, slightly moist soil. Choose a spot in full sun to part shade. Sorbaria establishes quickly and tolerates a wide range of conditions. Nothing in particular needs to be added if the soil is moderately fertile.

Water regularly the first season to encourage rooting. Once established, this shrub is fairly tolerant of moderate drought. Prune lightly after flowering to keep a compact shape. Remove suckers coming up from the ground if you want to limit its spread. Generally free of pests and diseases.
