Fraser Fir PREMIUM quality 6 to 7 ft

Delivery from November 28.

The Fraser fir is one of the most popular Christmas trees, mainly because it loses very few needles. As long as it always has water, it stays beautiful through the whole holiday season, without leaving needles all over the floor.

Its branches are strong and well spaced. They hold heavy decorations without bending, and ornaments hang nicely instead of disappearing into the foliage.

Its needles are short and soft: you can touch the tree without getting pricked, which is handy with young children. They are dark green on top and silvery underneath. It smells nicely of fir, without the scent being too strong.

Features

• Species: Abies fraseri
• Loses very few needles
• Strong, well-spaced branches that hold heavy decorations
• Short, soft needles, dark green on top, silvery underneath
• Pleasant fir scent, not too strong

Size and space needed

• Height: 6 to 7 feet (1.8 to 2.1 m)
• Width at the base: about 4 to 5 feet (1.2 to 1.5 m)
• Ceiling: at least 8 feet. Don't forget to add the height of the stand and the tree topper.
• This is the most common size: it fits nicely in a corner of the living room.

Keeping it fresh

• Cut 2 cm off the bottom of the trunk just before setting it up. After a few hours in the air, sap plugs the cut, and the tree can no longer drink, even if it has water.
• Set it in a stand with a water reservoir. The bottom of the trunk must always sit in water. On the first day, it can drink up to 4 litres, then 1 to 2 litres a day. During the first week, check the water morning and evening.
• Add nothing to the water: no sugar, no aspirin, no bleach. Plain water is enough.
• Keep it away from heating vents, the fireplace and sunny windows. Dry heat is what makes needles fall, not the cold.
• Leave it in the garage for a few hours before bringing it in, so it goes from cold to warm gradually.

After the holidays

Most municipalities pick up natural Christmas trees in January. First remove all decorations, including metal hooks.
