Planting and care

Plant in full sun in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Space plants 45 to 60 cm apart. Amend the soil with compost at planting to encourage good rooting.

Water regularly during the first season to establish a strong root system. Once established, this perennial tolerates drought well. At the end of the season, leave the spent flowers in place for fall and winter interest, then cut back to the ground the following spring.
