Planting and care

Plant in rich, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, in a sunny spot (at least 6 hours of direct sun). Leave enough space around the plant to ensure good air circulation and reduce the risk of fungal diseases. At planting, enrich the hole with well-rotted compost and firm moderately.

Water regularly and deeply after planting, especially during the first two growing seasons, to build a strong root system. Keep the soil cool but not soggy. A 5 cm layer of mulch around the base, not touching the stems, helps hold in moisture and moderates swings in soil moisture.
