Robinia pseudoacacia 'Purple Robe'

Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, even poor or sandy. Black locust adapts to difficult conditions (drought, urban pollution, compacted soils). A wide planting hole is enough; little amendment is needed. Firm lightly and form a watering basin.

Water regularly the first season to make sure the roots take. Once established, black locust tolerates drought very well and needs little care. Avoid excessive fertilizer, which promotes growth at the expense of flowering. No pruning is required; if needed, step in during winter or late winter to remove dead or badly placed branches.
