Planting and care

Plant the 'Mandarin Light' azalea in acidic, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter (peat, leaf mould). Set in part shade to protect it from strong summer sun. Space plants 1.2 to 1.5 m apart. Water generously at planting and keep the soil cool without waterlogging for the first two years.

Once established, this azalea needs little care. Water regularly during dry spells, especially in summer. Mulch lightly with leaves or acidic growing mix to hold in moisture and keep the roots cool. No pruning is needed; just remove spent flowers to encourage branching.
