Planting and care

Plant in fall or spring in well-drained soil, in full sun. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball, without over-amending. Set the root collar at soil level and backfill with the excavated soil. Water generously at planting.

For the first three years, keep the soil moist during dry spells (water once a week when there's no rain). Once well established, this conifer will tolerate moderate droughts. No pruning is needed; the narrow columnar shape holds naturally. Avoid compacting the soil around the trunk.
