Picea omorika 'Berliners Weeper'

Plant in fall or early spring in a well-drained spot, in rich, cool soil. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, work organic matter into the planting soil and settle the plant firmly. Make sure drainage is good to avoid root rot, which is particularly important in compacted or clay soils.

Water regularly during the first year of establishment, especially in dry spells, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. After establishment, watering can be reduced, since this spruce copes well with naturally cool, moist conditions. No pruning is needed; let the weeping form develop naturally.
