Planting and care

Plant in fall or spring in well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Choose a spot in full sun to keep the foliage dense and compact. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball and work in ericaceous soil or peat if the soil is alkaline.

Water regularly at planting to make sure it takes well during the first season. Once established, this cultivar is very drought tolerant and needs practically no care. Avoid standing excess moisture. A light formative pruning can be done in spring to keep the shape, but it generally isn't needed.
