Planting and care

Set in full sun in light, well-drained, even poor soil. Moss phlox prefers dry to moderately moist ground and dislikes standing moisture. At planting, amend the soil lightly with sand or pebbles to improve drainage.

Water moderately after planting until it is established. Once established, this alpine perennial tolerates drought very well and needs only occasional watering. Avoid heavy, frequent watering. A light trim after flowering encourages a compact, dense shape.
