Planting and care

Plant the Amur cork tree in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, in a sunny spot. The tree establishes best in permeable ground and dislikes prolonged waterlogging. Plant in fall or spring, leaving a clear space around the root collar.

During the first year after planting, keep up regular watering to encourage deep rooting. Once established, this tolerant tree handles drought well and needs little care. No pruning is needed; dead or badly placed branches can be cleaned out during dormancy.
