Black Cedar Mulch – 85 L

Cedar mulch in black enhances the look of garden beds while controlling weed growth. Made of 100% cedar, it reduces how often you need to water by slowing the evaporation of water from the soil, and protects roots from frost and drought. Deep black, the most contrasting of the three: it clearly outlines borders and light foliage.

How to use

• Remove surface weeds before applying.
• Spread the mulch 5 cm (2 in) thick: one bag then covers about 1.7 m² (18 sq ft). At 7.5 cm (3 in), count on 1.1 m² (12 sq ft) per bag.
• Leave a 2.5 to 5 cm (1 to 2 in) gap at the base of trees and shrubs to prevent the bark from rotting.
• The best time to apply mulch is between late spring and early summer.
• Stir the mulch now and then to keep it airy, and add a new layer once a year or when the existing layer gets too thin.
