Planting and care

Plant Miscanthus in full sun in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball, set the plant at the same level as in its container, firm well and water thoroughly at planting.

Keep up regular watering for the first two months after planting to make sure the roots take well. After that, this perennial is undemanding; moderate watering is enough under normal conditions. Cut the clump back to 5–10 cm above the ground in early spring, before new growth.
