Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun. Microbiota decussata tolerates poor, stony soils. At planting, make sure drainage is good to avoid suffocating the roots. Adding compost or peat can improve establishment in very compacted soil.

Water regularly for the first two years to encourage rooting. Once established, this conifer is very drought tolerant and needs little care. No pruning is required; this plant naturally keeps a spreading, compact habit.
