Planting and care

Plant in well-drained, moderately rich soil, in full sun or part shade. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and enrich the bottom with well-rotted compost. Set the plant at the same level as in its pot, without burying the root collar.

Water regularly the first year after planting to make sure the roots establish. After that, the honeysuckle will tolerate moderate drought. A light pruning after flowering keeps a compact habit and encourages branching. No specific treatment is generally needed.
