Planting and care

Plant in rich, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Choose a spot in full sun for the best flowering, although the shrub tolerates part shade. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and set the plant at the same level as in its pot. Firm well and create a watering basin.

Water generously at planting and keep the soil moist (not soggy) for the first three months. Once established, weekly watering is enough, except during long droughts. Spread organic mulch at the base to hold in moisture. Prune lightly in spring to encourage a compact shape.
