Planting and care

Plant Hosta 'Halcyon' in rich, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, in partial shade or under trees. Allow 60 to 80 cm of spacing depending on the desired size. Thorough watering at planting helps the roots establish.

This perennial is content with moderate watering once settled, except during long droughts. Mulch the soil lightly to hold in moisture and gradually enrich it with compost. Remove spent flowers and damaged leaves. No pruning is needed; let the plant develop naturally.
