Planting and care

Plant Hosta 'Blue Angel' in part shade to light shade, in rich, well-drained, slightly moist soil. Space plants 60 to 90 cm apart. Enrich the soil with organic matter (compost, peat) before planting.

Water regularly after planting to make sure it takes well, keeping the soil cool but not waterlogged. Once established, this perennial tolerates changes in moisture well. Spread organic mulch to hold in moisture and reduce swings in soil temperature.
