Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, in part shade to keep the best foliage colour. Space plants 40 to 50 cm apart. Avoid spots that are too hot and sunny, which can fade the leaves.

Water regularly after planting to keep the soil slightly moist during the first season. Once established, the plant tolerates relative drought well. Spread a light mulch around the base. Divide every 3 to 4 years to rejuvenate the clumps and improve vigour.
