Planting and care

Plant in full sun or part shade, in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Daylily adapts to varied soils and even tolerates difficult spots. Allow 45 to 60 cm between plants. Water regularly during the first season to establish good roots, then cut back once the plant is well settled, as it handles drought.

After flowering, cut back the spent stems to encourage branching and extend the blooming period. In late fall, cut the foliage back to the ground. Divide the clumps every 4 to 5 years in spring or fall to revitalize the plant and keep it in check.
