Planting and care

Plant in fall or spring in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Choose a part-shade spot, especially in warm regions. Leave 2 to 3 metres of spacing so the crown can develop fully. Mulch generously after planting.

Water regularly the first year to build a deep root system. After that, witch hazel tolerates moderate drought well once established. No pruning is required; keep the natural habit, or remove dead or crossing branches in late winter. No disease or pest treatment is needed.
