Planting and care

Plant in fall or spring in well-drained soil, ideally in full sun for generous flowering. Leave 1.5 to 2 m between plants. Forsythia tolerates a wide range of soils and has few special requirements at planting.

Water regularly during the first year of establishment. Once well rooted, the plant is very drought tolerant. Prune lightly after flowering to encourage dense branching. Little care is needed afterwards.
