Planting and care

Plant coneflower in well-drained soil, enriched with compost or growing mix at planting. Space plants 45 to 60 cm apart. A layer of organic mulch helps hold in moisture during the first season.

Water regularly while it establishes (2 to 3 weeks after planting) until the roots are settled. Once established, this perennial tolerates drought well. Cut off spent stems to encourage new blooms and keep a compact shape.
