Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil, slightly acidic to neutral, in a very sunny spot. This shrub tolerates poor, rocky soils. Allow 0.9 to 1.2 m between plants.

Water moderately during the first growing season to encourage rooting. Once established, Diervilla splendens 'Nightglow' is very drought tolerant and needs little care. No regular pruning is needed; trim lightly after flowering if the shrub gets too thick.
