Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun to bring out the best flower and fall foliage colour. Space plants at least 1 m apart. Planting in spring or fall gives the best results. No amendment is needed; this shrub adapts to all soil types.

Water regularly the first season to make sure the roots establish well. Once established, very little watering is needed; this shrub tolerates drought and proves very resilient. A light pruning after flowering keeps a compact shape, but it isn't required. No disease or pest treatment is generally needed.
