Planting and care

Set in a sunny spot protected from strong winds, which can damage the delicate drooping branches. The Nootka false cypress likes well-drained soil, slightly acidic to neutral. Space plants according to the expected final width to allow good air circulation.

Water regularly after planting to encourage rooting, especially during the first year. After that, keep the soil cool but not soggy, as standing moisture harms its health. No structural pruning is needed; let the natural weeping habit develop. Little care is needed once established.
