Planting and care

Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun, in a spot sheltered from strong winds. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball and enrich the soil with organic matter if needed. Firm well and water thoroughly at planting.

Water regularly the first season to make sure it takes well. Once established, the shrub tolerates dry spells. Prune in late winter (early April), cutting the stems back by a third of their length to encourage dense branching and abundant flowering. Removing spent flowers will encourage a longer bloom.
